Jyoti Sangh Eye Camp

Jyoti Sangh, is an Ahmedabad based organization which commenced its activities in 1934 and was established with a view to spread the light in the homes of the poor. Jyoti Sangh helps women to develop their self-confidence and also has substantial focus on programs of helping the poor especially women and children through upgrading Education, upgrading skills, providing Healthcare facilities and other programs aimed at empowerment of women.

EYES4U Eye Camp on June 08, 2012 was well received by the patrons and beneficiaries of Jyotisangh with lots of warmth and hope. The Eye Camp not only reinforced the focus and objective of Jyotisangh as an NGO, but also helped to ground these beneficiary families into the possibility of creating a new vision, view and awareness among themselves as well as expanded their horizon on how they can be instrumental in creating awareness among the various communities that they represent.

More than 30% of the beneficiaries who underwent the free eye check up camp had to be referred to the ophthalmologist for treatment for a nominal cost while around 20% of the were provided with recycled prescription glasses by the Lawrence & Mayo team free of cost from the EYES4U Foundation.

It was a real fulfilling experience for everyone who participated in this project for the contribution that it made in their lives.
